Microsoft and Adobe have both announced the availability of a new security update for theFlashPlayer for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users. Read below to find more about this security improvement.Adobe updates frequently itsFlashPlayer and we have previously talked about an update that put anend to a lot of bugs,and also those that were causing theFlash Player to not work in Windows 8.1. Now, Adobe and Microsoft have released together a security bulletin that updates the AdobeFlashPlayer for Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and the other supported Windows versions.

Adobe has released security updates forAdobe FlashPlayer 11.9.900.152 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh andAdobe FlashPlayer 11.2.202.327 and earlier versions for Linux. These updates address vulnerabilities that could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. Adobe is aware of reports that an exploit designed to trick the user into opening a Microsoft Word document with maliciousFlash(.swf) content exists for CVE-2013-5331.Adobe FlashPlayer 11.6 and later provide a mitigation against this attack.
