Microsoft is not giving up on the Bing-poweredsearchbox in theWindows 10lockscreen.

The Bing search box is still coming on Windows 10’s lockscreen

We’ve already reported a couple of months back that the tech giant is working on adding a new Bingsearchtool to theWindows 10lockscreen withWindows 1020H1 build 18932.

Now, thefeaturewas spotted again inWindows 10build 18970:

Microsoft is experimenting with a different lockscreen layout. This is a screenshot from build 18970. I am not dragging or sliding the contents in any way, this is simply how it looks.pic.twitter.com/5FWsb38Ezi

The Bingsearchbox in the bottom left corner seems similar with thesearchbox from theTaskbarand because of its positioning, the time and date have been move to the top left corner.

We don’t know very much about the newsearchbox, as Microsoft didn’t shared any details about it.

The most interesting thing is if thesearchresults will be displayed on the lock screen or you’ll have to login to see them. We’ll just have to wait and, hopefully soon, see how it works.

The Bing-poweredsearchbox on theWindows 10lockscreen seen in build 18970 raised a lot of eyebrows in the Windows community, as themajoritydon’t like the implementation and use scenarios:

The old one on bottom is always better. Designers nowadays design just for the sake of change.

Maybe they are experimenting with an option tosearchthe internet from the lockscreen? If so I can’t imagine thesearchbox staying there. Either way seems a little pointless?

What do you think of aBingsearchbox onWindows 10‘s lockscreen?
