The Game Awards 2023 kicked off with a bang, with the announcement of a remake of the popular co-op adventure game,Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.
For those unfamiliar, the original game, which was developed byPayday 3studio Starbreeze Studios, sees players control - as you’d expect - two brothers, desperate to cure their sick father. As per the original synopsis onSteam: “They must set out upon a journey to find and bring back the ‘Water of Life’ as they come to rely on one another to survive. One must be strong where the other is weak, brave where the other is fearful, they must be… Brothers.”
The original version ofBrothers: A Tale of Two Sonsfirst released in 2013, and the remake will land a little after its 10th anniversary on February 28, 2024. It’ll be available to play onXbox Series X|S,PlayStation 5, and PC, and is available on the wishlist now. As you’d hope, the remake looks far shinier than its 2013 counterpart - can take a look at the trailer below.
Things didn’t slow down after this announcement, however. Between the many awards, viewers were given a first look atWindblown- a new roguelite from Dead Cells studio Motion Twin, as well asBig Walk, a new title fromUntitled Goose Gamedeveloper House House.
All of the winners of The Game Awards 2023have now been announced too, and Larian Studios' enormous RPG,Baldur’s Gate 3, managed to take home Game of the Year, as well as Best Multiplayer, Best RPG, Best Community Support, and the community-selected Player’s Voice award.
Prior to the event, we knew that we’d finally find out the release date forBaldur’s Gate 3on Xbox, but it’s been announced that it’savailable to download and play on Xbox Series X|S right now, so set that downloading.
