The nominations for the 27th annual D.I.C.E (Design Innovate Communicate Entertain) Awards have been announced by The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, andMarvel’s Spider-Man 2is leading the pack with a total of nine nominations.
Across 23 categories, a total of 56 games from 2023 have been nominated, with the winners set to be announced on February 15.Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is the most nominated game, up for nine awards including ‘Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction’ and ‘Outstanding Technical Achievement.’ It’s closely followed by Remedy Entertainment’sAlan Wake 2(which is up for eight awards), Larian Studios’Baldur’s Gate 3(seven nominations), and Annapurna Interactive’sCocoon(which has received six nominations).
It’s those same names filling out the Game of the Year category, alongsideThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom- which received five nominations in total.Baldur’s Gate 3has been incredibly successfulwith multiple 2023 Game of the Year wins including at ceremonies likeThe Game Awards,The Golden Joysticks, andThe Steam Awards. It was alsoTechRadar Gaming’s top game of the year. We’ll just have to wait and see if it’ll bag another win.
