TheMay 2019 Patch Tuesday editionis here and brought a new cumulativeupdate(KB4499179 ) toWindows 10v1709 users.Windows 10cumulativeupdateKB4499179bumps the existing version to build number 16299.1146.
Thispatchcame with numerous security updates and fixes to address some new security flaws.
Microsoftno longer releases security patchestoWindows 10version 1709. The tech giantended official supportforWindows 10v1709 IoT Core, Workstation, Home and Pro versions in April.
Enterprise, loT, and Education edition users still enjoyupdatesfor an extended period of 12 months.
It is therefore recommended that users upgrade their PCs ASAP. That is the only way users can continue to receive the latest security and featureupdateson their machines.

Some users previously reported thatMS PGothicorMS UI Gothicfonts in MS Excel caused some visible changes in the formatting of text, cell or the size of its layout. KB4499179 fixed the issue.

Microsoft claims that KB4499179 addresses a newly discovered vulnerability targetingWindows 10users. This security flaw is named Microarchitectural Data Sampling.

The HTTP Strict Transport Security Top Level Domains for Microsoft Edge and IE welcomed the addition of “uk.gov” in the latest release.
KB4499179 known issues
Surprisingly, Microsoft acknowledged only one known issue in KB4499179. This issue is related to operations performed onfiles or folders that are on CSV.
Microsoft recommended its users to try one of the following workarounds.
