Dragon Quest Builders 2, an RPG sandbox game previously released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Windows iscoming to Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Passnext week on May 4.Following Outriders last month, this will be another Square Enix game launching on Xbox Game Pass at the same time as its Xbox release, and Dragon Quest Builders 2 will also be available on Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass for PC thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere support.

“Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the acclaimed block-building RPG from Dragon Quest series creators Yuji Horii, character designer Akira Toriyama, and composer Koichi Sugiyama. It features a compelling story, charming characters, and the potential for incredible creativity,” explained Duncan Heaney, Content Communications Manager, Square Enix.

Last year, Xbox Game Pass subscribers also got to play Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition on its launch day, December 4. Along with Sega, Square Enix appears to be one of the biggest supporters of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service. When you also add all the Final Fantasy games that joined the Xbox Game Pass catalog in recent months, it’s interesting to see Microsoft adding more and more J-RPGs titles to its game subscription service.

If you don’t have Xbox Game Pass, Dragon Quest Builders 2 is available for pre-order on the Microsoft Store where it’s priced at $49.99. Thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere, the game can be played on PC and Xbox at no additional cost, with a convenient cross-save system between the two platforms.
