Avira recently rolled out an importantpatchto fix the bugs introduced by the recentApril 2019 Patch Tuesday updates. Thepatchsolved theupdateissues for both Windows 7 andWindows 10users.

Microsoft already has abad reputationas far as theWindows Updatesare concerned. The company was still struggling to cope up with the bad imagecaused by Windows 10 October Update.

Unfortunately, the latest Patch Tuesdayupdatesturned out to beanother blowto Microsoft’s reputation.

PCs running Avira failed to boot after update

ManyWindows 10users started reporting booting issues shortly after Microsoft rolled out the April 2019updates. The company investigated the issues and confirmed that some antivirus products were triggering the problem.

The big M worked with Avira and identified the glitch that caused WindowsPCsto becomeunresponsive after a reboot.

However, the bug only affectedusers runningAvira Antivirus softwareonWindows 7 and 8.1. Microsoft immediately responded to the reports and temporarily blocked theWindows 10May 2019updateon affected devices.

No more update issues

Avira released anupdateto fix the issue once and for all. The security vendor confirmed that the issue also impactedWindows 10users.

The company says that theupdate(KB4493509) will be automatically downloaded on your systems. Initially, most users uninstalledWindows 10April 2019 Update after hearing about the issues.

Windows Insiders are currently testing theWindows 10May 2019 Update. The new OS version is expected to land by the end of this month. Hopefully, we will be facing fewer issues this time around.
