Key notes
The second Tuesday of October is now here and that means that Microsoft will soon release its monthly batch of major updates called thePatch Tuesday Updates.
Like with the other previous 9 months, these updates are long-expected because they bring much-needed fixes toWindows 10.
However, the core of these updates is the security updates that come with them as well, especially the ones concerning CVEs for Microsoft and Adobe products.
Speaking of which, another highlight of this month is to see if the trend of the increasing number of CVEs continues, or if it has finally come to a stop.
What should users be expecting from this month’s updates?
A common trend in Patch Tuesday updates is the implementation of what has been in the testing phase within the Windows Insiders program.
Another trend is the fixing of new features that may have been implemented in thelast round of Patch Tuesday updates.
All in all, here are some highlights of what has transpired over this past month with Microsoft and its products, and maybe you can get an idea of what’s to come during this month’s update:
Unfortunately, this is nothing more but guesswork until the updates actually hit live at 10 PM PST.
Keep in mind that the Patch Tuesday updatesare importantbecause of the added protective features that they bring.
That being said, if you aren’t a fan of updating your OS and have decided topause your Windows Update feature, you should make an exception right now.
This is for your own protection, and it can prevent any damage and cyberattacks that usually follow duringExploit Wednesday and Uninstall Thursday.
