With the feature being baked into the Google Messages app, users won’t need to leave or require a separate app installed to use Gemini like they do now.

Gemini can be asked for conversation suggestions like help with drafting messages, or brainstorming ideas among other useful abilities Google claims will help users “stay productive“. Google’s example said, “I haven’t reached out to my friend in a while. Help me draft a short message to check in and reconnect.”

According to9to5Google, this version of Gemini is based on Gemini 1.0 Pro, which works across a wide range of tasks and has been further modified to give shorter responses better suited for mobile. You can also add images to your conversations with Gemini to ask what an object is.
