Intel just announced its new Intel Core i7 processor Extreme Edition, which is supposed to be the company’s “most powerful deskop processor yet”. Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition delivers impressive performances, and is especially aimed atgamersand other multimedia workers.

Processors from this family will deliver up to 10 cores and 20 threads, ensuring the best possible performance that can be found in a processor for desktop PCs today. Additionally, Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition will also feature 40 PCIe lanes, so people will have more options upgrading their computer.

Core i7 Extreme Edition will use Intel’s Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, a tool for better performance optimizing. 3D rendering will be up to 35 percent better compared to previous models, so players will be able to record 4K gameplay, while running other tasks in the background.

“Gamers are continually raising the bar, driving their systems to its limits. Now they can push their systems even harder, reaching new heights in performance and overall experience. That’s what the Intel Core i7 processor Extreme Edition is about. And with our new Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, applications are steered to the highest-performing core, giving single-threaded experiences a huge performance boost. With 40 PCIe lanes connected directly into the CPU, gamers have a variety of options at their fingertips to expand their system’s capabilities with Intel® SSD 750 Series of high-performance solid state drives, multiple discrete GFX cards andThunderbolt™ 3 technology,”said a corporate vice president and general manager of the Connected Home and Commercial Client at Intel, Gregory Bryant.

Bryant also promised improved support for virtual reality devices, such as HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. Players will be able to enjoy better VR experience, while developers will have more room to create. And finally, video editors will be able to record and edit stunning 4K videos with ease.

Besides this powerful processor, Intel also announced its 7th generation of processors named Kaby Lake, as well as an entry-level line of processors namedApollo Lake. The 7th generation of Intel processors should be available by the end of this year.

Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition is now available at various online retailers for the price of $1723.
