Microsoft todayannounced the releaseof Edge Dev version 88.0.692.0, and with it comes a fan-favorite feature from the Legacy Microsoft Edge. Indeed, the release now makes it possible to pin a website to the Start Menu. In addition, there are the usual reliability and other fixes, too. Here’s a look at what you need to know.

First off, we begin with the new features. In addition to the new ability to pin websites to the Start Menu, Edge Dev is also getting support for Guided Switch on Mac. Also new as the ability for Kiosk Mode to open all popups in the new tabs instead of windows.

Now, for the reliability fixes and changed behaviors. There’s a few to note this week. Microsoft finally fixed a crash on launch when Edge is set to restore the previous session. Also fixed are issues where uninstalling a website installed as an app might crash the browser. Please see a look below for everything else you need to know. The list is short this week.

As for the known issues, there are a few in this release. Please be aware that certain extensions such as the Microsoft Editor extension don’t work on Linux. As soon as they’re installed, they crash and are disabled. Microsoft is investigating. Of course, there are also the persisting issues too. Problems with ad-blocking extensions, tabs, and extensions crashing, Kaspersky Internet Suire causing websites to fail to load, duplicate favorites, Edge windows becoming black, wobbling when scrolling, and no sound with multiple audio output devices, all still are problems here, too.

Please be aware that Microsoft says this update will be the last for the month. The holidays are coming up, and the Edge team will be getting some much-needed rest.
