The latest Geekbench resultsconfirmedtheWindows 10May 2019 Update enhances single-coreperformanceby 5%.

We can see that the latestWindows 10build is all set to overtakeLinux. However, in terms ofperformance, Ubuntu 19.04 is currently better than theWindows 10May 2019 Update with a difference of around 8%.

Windows 10v1903 slightly improved the benchmark forx264 multi-threaded video encoding. Still,Windows 10is lagging behindLinuxin terms ofperformance.

Geekbench separates theperformanceof single-core and multi-core. The tool is currently available for almost all platforms including Windows, Android, macOS, iOS andLinux.

Geekbench 4 uses a scoring system against a 4000 baseline score. The existing version also deals with areas such ascomputer visionand image processing tocalculate GPU performance.

Microsoft still needs to focus on performance issues

Windows 10 users were quick to respond to this piece of news. One Reddit user opened a discussion by creating a new post on Reddit. The OP highlighted the fact that Microsoft needs to work on its kernel.

Gonna need a major kernal rework for windows to get better. I hope they’re planning on it.

Windows 10has a bad reputation as far as the bugs are concerned. Many users are now concerned about variousperformance issuesaffectingWindows 10.

As a matter of fact, today Microsoft is focusing more onintroducing brandnew features. The company only addresses major issues that exist in the operating system.

As a quick reminder, Microsoft is currently working on integratinga real Linux kernel onWindows 10very soon. The upcoming kernel is not going to replace the existing Windows kernel. Alternatively,Windows 10is going to use VM to run the Linux kernel.

Microsoft should not ignore the fact that the gaming community is using different versions ofWindows 10. If the company doesn’t work to bring new hardware support for games, players may look for an alternative platform.
