Out of nowhere, it’s been confirmed that a game based onMarvel’s half-vampire, Blade, is in development from Bethesda and Arkane Lyon, in collaboration with Marvel Games.
Simply titledMarvel’s Blade, the “mature action-adventure” was announced during The Game Awards 2023. It’ll be a third-person game set in “the heart of Paris.” You can take a look at the trailer below.
“InMarvel’s Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead,” the trailer’s description reads.
Arkane Lyon seems like a perfect match for Blade and its Paris setting. On a press release on the Bethesda website, Co-Creative and Art Director of Arkane Lyon, Sebastien Mitton, says “From his trench coat to his iconic sunglasses, Blade is a slick, stylish, and driven character. He continues to state: “This project is the perfect opportunity to push Arkane’s art style into an even more modern and bold territory. The essence of our work lives at the junction of impactful ideas and innovative know-how.”
We can expect the Arkane magic to be fully imbued onto the game, and we can’t wait; the studio’s art direction, first-class narratives, and sensattional immersive sim action is some of the best in the business and makes the likes of theDishonoredseries, as well asPrey (2017)andDeathloopsome top-tier games with thriving fanbases.
Marvel’s Bladehasn’t been given a specific release window or had its confirmed platforms listed out yet, so prospective players will just have to stay tuned for more information. We, for one, are absolutely enthralled already.
