Microsoft todayannouncedthat they are now beginning to expand the preview of theirProject xCloud video game streaming platformto 11 new countries.
The countries being added to the xCloud preview are Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden. Those located within any of these 11 countries who are interested in trying out this new service are encouraged to sign up viathis web page. Note that onlyAndroidusers are being accepted as of this moment.iOS deviceswill likely be added at a later date as was done in existing test regions.
This expansion of the cloud streaming service is a bit surprising as most of Europe, like many other regions, has restricted internet services due to the global COVID-19 pandemic which has forced the majority of the popular to stay at home.
“With that in mind, we continue to evaluate the COVID-19 situation and will begin rolling out the Project xCloud preview across 11 Western European countries when we are confident it is sensible to do so,” ablog poston Mirosoft’s Xbox Wire website says of the situation. “We will take a measured approach to help conserve internet access, beginning the preview in each market with a limited number of people and adding more participants over time.”
Microsoft has continually been testing and improving its Project xCloud service adding new games and regions on a regular basis over the past several months. Just last week, thenew Bleeding Edge video game was added to the xCloud library.
