Microsoft brings back Xbox Design Lab for customizing its new Xbox Wireless Controller

It’s finally happening,Microsoft’s Xbox Design Lab is officially backand ready to let Xbox fans customize the next-gen Xbox Wireless Controllers that made their debut with the Xbox Series X|S consoles last Fall. The customization program will once again let customers create a unique Xbox controller by personalizing its features including the colors of the body, back case, hybrid D-pad, bumpers, triggers, thumbsticks, as well as all buttons.

“With Xbox Design Lab, you can customize a controller to match your creative style, tell a story, or celebrate a special moment. From there, you can further personalize your design with laser engraving to add your name, Gamertag or custom 16-character message. We’ll then hand-make your controller and ship it to your doorstep with free shipping,” the Xbox team explained.

For now, the Xbox Design Lab is only available in the US, Canada, and most Western European Countries, and customized controllers will cost $69.99 (adding a personalized laser engraved message costs $9.99 more). Literally millions of color combinations are now available, and Microsoft said that most of the color options are made with plastics containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials.
