Microsoft is introducing a new feature in its Edge browser that will enable users to add screenshots taken via the Web Capture tool to Collections. Spotted by userHotCakeX on the Microsoft Edge Insider forum, the experimental feature is now rolling out in preview to select Edge Insiders in the Canary channel (build 91.0.864.1 or higher).
Microsoft Edgeintroduced the Web Capture tool last year, which allows users to capture screenshots from web pages without any third-party programs. As of now, the tool only lets users preview, copy, share or annotate screenshots, and it will soon get the ability to add them to Collections as well. The saved images will sync up with all the devices where the user is signed in with the same Microsoft account.
Microsoft Edge Canary Insiders will be able to access this setting by heading to the three-dots menu (. . .) at the top of the screen and choosing Web Capture. After taking the screenshot, select the “Mark-up capture” option, and then click “Add to Collections” to save it to an existing or new Collection.
For now, though, the feature is only available to a small number of testers, but it will be gradually rolled out to everyone in the Canary Channel. The addition of this capability could help users keep track of ideas and content they come across the web. In case you missed it, Microsoft Edge Canary has also added a newPerformance modeandTab actions menurecently.
