Back in 2018,Microsoft had announcedit will be switching to the open-sourceChromiumframework for its Edgebrowser.

While the Beta version of the same was released back in October 2018, looks likeMicrosoftis finally ready to announce thebrowserofficially.

It seems that the Microsoft Edge stable download link is already showing up in google search results:

Can I download the stable version of Microsoft Edge now?

Yes, a new page for Edgebrowserstable version is now live on the officialMicrosoft website.You can download and install thebrowseron your Windows computer.

However, do note that thebrowserwill replace the classicEdgeon your Windows computer. Once installed, you won’t be able to uninstall theChromium-basedbrowserfor now.

When’s the official launch expected?

While Google and Firefox are gearing up to launch the newer version of their respectiveweb browserstoday, it is possible thatMicrosoftwill also join the party with its new shiningbrowser.

The Beta version of Edgebrowserhas received a positive response from the early testers. Although thestable version of Edge was leaked onlineearlier, this is the first time the software giant is expected to make it official.

After the installation, we did not notice any changes to the logo or icon. However, being a stable release thebrowserwill ditch the beta/dev tag inside the about section.

That said, there is no official confirmation fromMicrosoftabout the release date yet norMicrosofthas linked to the stable channel on theMicrosoftEdge insider page. We will update the post as it happens.
