Microsoft todayannounced the release of a new version of PowerShell, the company’s command-line-based configuration tool. The latest update brings up to version 7.1, and it includes several improvements and fixes over version 7.0, which was madegenerally available in March.

“For PowerShell 7.1, we decided to build on the foundation established in PowerShell 7.0 with a strong focus on community issues, especially where we could make additive changes and quality-of-life improvements without introducing instability or breaking changes,” the company explained.

In addition to these changes, there are also new cmdlets, build and packaging improvements, and fixes in this release. The full changelog is availablehere.

As usual, you can download the latest version of PowerShell from theGitHub releases page. With PowerShell version 7.1, PowerShell is now also available for installation from theMicrosoft Storeon Windows 10.
