Microsoft hasconfirmed that developmenton Edge Chromium is continuing and that despite its announced delay of updates back on March 20th, Edge 81 will be released into the stable channel in early April.  This revised schedule matches Google’s recentannouncementthat Google Chrome 81 will be released the week of April 7th and that releases will get back to a more regular 6-week schedule.

With today’s update, Microsoft also confirmed that they will continue to deliver security and stability updates to Edge 80 and the preview channels will be on their regular schedule.  One important change to the schedule includes the cancellation of the version 82 release with Microsoft jumping ahead to Microsoft Edge 83 for their next release in mid-May.

To align with the Chromium schedule, we plan on skipping build 82 to focus on the quality for the release of Microsoft Edge 81 to our Stable channel in the coming weeks. Our Dev and Canary channels are now on build 83. See more details on the blog here:https://t.co/HphrQlDQhMhttps://t.co/pv78fSIHHg
