Microsoft Teams is making it easier to manage, track, and collaborate on group projects with theaddition of the new Project and Roadmap apps. With this release, the company is now allowing users to create new projects or roadmaps by adding them as tabs within Teams.

“Connecting directly to Project from within Teams has been one of the major requests from Project users, and these apps will make it easy to manage, track, and collaborate on all aspects of a team’s project in one place. This brings content and conversation side-by-side in one integrated experience,” the company explained.

The Project app in Teams makes it easier for users to schedule and assign resources to projects within the app. Users will now be able to open existing roadmaps/projects or create new ones regardless of their skill level or role. More specifically, it brings access to the same set of capabilities currently available in the web app, allowing users to organize data in Teams channels, chat, and tabs.

For teams who often need to deal with multiple projects simultaneously, the Roadmap app allows them to connect projects and track their current status across an organization. It will show you a consolidated timeline view of Microsoft Project and Azure Boards projects to increase visibility across all ongoing work.

The company detailed two different access levels for both Roadmap and Project apps in Microsoft Teams. Office 365 users will be able to view the shared Roadmaps or Projects in a read-only mode only. However, Teams users need to acquire appropriateProject for the Web licensesfor creating and editing Projects/Roadmaps. You can learn more about these new apps on thissupport page.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
