Microsoft Teams is consolidating its status at the main communication hub in Office 365 with a new Yammer integration. This week, Microsoftannouncedthat it’s now possible to add a Yammer group as a tab in a Teams channel, making it possible to access the enterprise social network without leaving the app.

“Yammer and Microsoft Teams together help get employees the right information at the right time. Using the two efficiently together, employees have a place for their questions and answers in Yammer, while the core team gets alignment on their responses in Teams,” the Yammer team explained.

As of today, the Yammer tab in Teams is only available on the web and desktop. To add a Yammer Group to a Teams channel, you’ll have to select + on the tab bar, select the Yammer tab and then the Yammer group you want to add. From then, you’ll have to choose wether you want to show messages from a Yammer group, or a specific Topic feed. Be aware that you can only select one Yammer group or topic per tab, but you can add more Yammer tabs to a Teams channel if needed.

You may have missed it, but Microsoft released aYammer native app for Windows and Macsome time ago. However, being able to access Yammer right from Microsoft Teams is probably more convenient, especially since you can share a Yammer conversation in your Teams channel. You can learn more about how to get started with this new Yammer tab in Teams on thissupport page.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
