Microsoft Teams is getting a new “Content from camera” feature that will help meeting participants easily read content from physical whiteboards and documents. The Redmond giant has recently updated theMicrosoft 365 Roadmapto indicate that this update will begin rolling out to users on the desktop sometime in September.

The new Content from Camera feature will use special image-processing software to enable the webcam to mask out people writing on a physical whiteboard. This capability should make it easier for remote participants to clearly see what is being written. The Content Camera feature iscurrently only available for Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), and it’s not supported on the desktop client.

This release should help to make distance learning and hybrid meetings environments more engaging than ever before. “Content from camera” in Teams enables you to share content from physical artefacts such as whiteboards and documents in a high quality and legible way during meetings. All you need is a laptop or PC with an in-built camera or with an attached USB camera. Educators can also share content directly from a document camera,” the company explained on the Microsoft 365 roadmap.

In addition to this feature, Microsoft is also adding newReporter and Side-by-Side layouts to Presenter mode in Teams. Microsoft has recentlyintroduced a new feature that allows participants to translate slide contentin PowerPoint Live presentations.
