Microsoft Translator now offers text translation in nine additional languages

Microsoft hasannounced that its Microsoft Translator servicenow supports nine additional languages for text translation. The latest additions are Albanian, Myanmar, Azerbaijani, Amharic, Nepali, Khmer, Tigrinya, Lao, and Armenian.

“This announcement comes on the heels of International Mother Language Day, held annually on February 21st by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism,” the company noted on the Microsoft Translator Blog.

The company noted that the nine new text translation languages are currently available in all Translator apps and other products, including Microsoft Office and Bing Translator, as well as the Azure Cognitive Services Speech for developers. The addition of new languages brings the total number of supported Microsoft Translator languages up to 83.

It is important to note that the latest additions are currently spoken by around 170 million people worldwide. With the recent announcement, Microsoft says that the translation tool will enable users to interact effectively with people residing in different regions of the world.
