The Initiative, Microsoft’s new Xbox Game Studio based in Santa Monica revealed their first game at The Game Awards ceremony today. As it was previously rumored, this is areboot of Perfect Dark, an IP previously created by Rare in 2000 as the spiritual successor to their critically-acclaimed Goldeneye 007 game on the Nintendo 64.
“With Perfect Dark, we’re aiming to deliver a secret agent thriller set in a near-future world,” wrote Darrell Gallagher, Studio Head at The Initiative today. “We have built the Perfect Dark team at The Initiative by bringing in some of the most talented game makers from around the industry who all share a passion for storytelling, world-building and creating memorable game experiences. With the full backing from Xbox Studios to re-imagine one of the best loved IPs from gaming history, we couldn’t be more excited to share some of our early ideas.”
We don’t have many details about this new Perfect Dark game for now, except that it will be an Action/Adventure First Person Shooter coming to Xbox Series X and S. The Initiative, which was only created two years ago, is planning to share more details in the near future. The new studio has already attracted many veterans from the video games industry since its foundation, and we can’t wait to see how all this top talent is going to bring this beloved IP back to life.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.
Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
