By itself, this is a pretty mundane release. Strange version number aside (Mojang Studios has noted in the recent past not to pay as much attention to version numbers), Beta 1.17.10.20 indicates that we’re only a few weeks or months away from seeing the fruits of Mojang Studios' labors, which willadd up to 91 new blocks and items to Minecraftand a ton of other awesome changes in the two-part Caves and Cliffs Update. The larger second half, which will include more generational and world-focused changes, is slated to arrive later this year in the winter.

However, it has been confirmed that this will be the first Pre-Release snapshot for the ‘Caves and Cliffs Update,’ once again indicating that we’re nearing release.
