Microsoft’s Chromium-based Edge browser got its official launch date—it will be available on January 15, for those who missedMonday’s news. But as exciting as that might sound for some, that doesn’t mean that everyone will get it right off the bad.

AsNeowinpoints out, the new Edge browser will likely roll out to users on a gradual basis. Microsoft will bring the stable version of the browser to a small handful of users, and eventually roll it out to more users if it proves stable enough. This follows the company’s typical habits of careful testing of its services, especially as bad press would be the last thing it needs while launching something new like this.

As far as to which version of Windows 10 will come bundled with the new Edge—well, the answer isn’t so simple. Unlike the legacy version of Edge, the newer browser will update completely independently from Windows 10. Microsoft will eventually roll it out to OEMs sometime after its general availability.

In other words, it’s not about when it’ll be bundled with Windows, it’s about when it will be available to you. If you’re not too keen on waiting, Microsoft has alreadyintroduced the Release Candidate of Microsoft Edgein the beta channel, if you’re interested in giving it a try.
