Key notes
COVID-19 continues to negatively impact various aspects of social, school, and business life. Speaking of business, the pandemic has contributed to the rise incyber attacksaimed at enterprise computing systems, especially the cloud-based ones, such as Microsoft Teams.
In response to suchthreats, London-based NTT Dataannouncedplans to deliver a security solution for Microsoft Teams users in physical offices and virtual workplaces.
Microsoft Teams security solution by NTT
The use of remote working or collaborative tools rose sharply a few months after the onset of COVID-19.
Of course, as we speak, organizations are now planning for life back in physical offices. Nonetheless, many have discovered new possibilities with remote workforce collaboration.
So, we don’t expect a sharp decline in the use of platforms like Microsoft Teams once workers return to physical offices. Instead, you’ll most likely witness the rise of the distributed workforce.
A recent NTT survey of workers backs this notion up. According to the study, 56% of office-based workers expect remote working to remain an option even after physical offices reopen.
That’s why companies like NTT Data are building security solutions for physical office use cases and remote working in Teams.
There is currently unprecedented demand for Microsoft Teams expertise as companies have transitioned to remote working. The next step is to build infrastructure to support the future workplace, a framework that will allow companies to return to theofficeand seamlessly blend remote working with working in theoffice.
Since Teams is a Microsoft 365-based app, it comes with several security features out of the box. These include at-rest and in-transitdata encryptionand AdvancedThreatProtection.
However, enterprises may opt to engage third-parties to help with the implementation or reinforcement of Microsoft Teams security. This is where providers like NTT come in.
