Microsoft released theJuly Patch Tuesday updateslast week. However, theseupdatesintroduced someissues of their own. Now the Big M is back with another round of cumulativeupdates.
Microsoft just releasedWindows 10Cumulative updatesKB4507465,KB4507466, andKB4507467. Theseupdatesare available for Windows 10 version 1709, 1803 and 1703, respectively.
This time, the company addressed different issues that previously existed in the OS. Notably, Microsoft plans to release newupdatesforWindows 10October 2018 Update and May 2019 Update by the end of July as well.
What’s new in KB4507465, KB4507466, and KB4507467?
Website performance issues
Previously, users experienced performance issues on websites that use WebAssembly. These issues have been resolved in the latest batch of cumulativeupdates.
IE authentication bug
There were some reports that a bug prevented the personal identification number prompt from popping up in Internet Explorer. Microsoft released theseupdatesto address this issue.
Windows Event Log service issues
KB4507466 fixed a bug that prevented Windows Event Log service from processing notifications.
Account recognition issues
Some systems had problems with recognizing Azure Active Directory or Microsoft accounts. At timesWindows 10users had to sign in again to resolve this issue. All threeWindows 10cumulative updates address the same problem.
Windows Hello bugs
Microsoft addressed two different issues related to Windows Hello in KB4507466. The first one is related to the PIN policy and the second one deals with authentication issues.
SMB performance issues
KB4507466 resolves performance issues for some SMB clients with directories containing more than 500,000 files.
Window-Eyes screen reader app issues
There were some reports that users experienced issues when they launched and used the Window-Eyes screen reader app. The application either failed to launch completely or some features didn’t work properly due to this issue. Thankfully, these issues have been fixed now.
NTFS bug
Microsoft released KB4507465 to address a bug that existed in the New Technology File System (NTFS).
Known issues
Microsoft acknowledged many known issues in the recentupdates. You can check out the respective changelogs to find out the details. The company plans to release a fix very soon.
