Microsoft released the second round ofupdatesof the year 2020 just two weeks afterPatch Tuesday.
This cumulativeupdateis calledKB4532695is available forWindows 10version 1903 andWindows 10version 1909.
This cumulativeupdateis mostly composed of fixes, the most noticeable one being theFile Explorer issuethat has been plaguing users foralmost 4 monthsnow.
KB4532695 affects the use of Outlook’s mailboxes
Unfortunately, this cumulativeupdateis not without its flaws. Just a day after hitting live, users have beenreportingon official forums that the cumulativeupdatemakes their Outlook mailboxes disappear fromMail:
After applying the “January 28, 2020-KB4534132 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 forWindows 10Version 1903 and Windows Server 1903 RTM andWindows 10, version 1909 and Windows Server, version 1909″ update, all four of the outlook.com mailboxes have disappeared fromMail, and only the gmail mailboxes remain. This is grossly unacceptable behavior. Running the “January 28, 2020—KB4532695 (OS Builds 18362.628 and 18363.628)” update leaves the mailboxes still missing.
Curiously enough, nothing in the KB4532695’schangelogseems to indicate any change, improvement or bugfix related to Outlook,Mail, or mailboxes in general.
What makes this issue all the more confusing is that if users withinMail‘s settings, they will see that all of the mailboxes are still registered there.
Admittedly, since the mailboxes still show up as registered, it might be simply a visual bug.
Whichever the case, Microsoft will not release any newupdatesuntil the February Patch Tuesday updates. This means that if you too encounter this issue, might as well uninstall the cumulativeupdate.
