Over 1% of PCs are already on Windows 11 ahead of its launch, says report

AdDuplex has a September report that provides some insight regarding how many PC users are out there right now rockingWindows 11ahead of its officialOctober 5, 2021 release. As it turns out, over 1% are already using the new operating system.
Before diving into the results, here’s the source on AdDuplex’s figures. “This report is based on data collected from around 5,000 Windows Store apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher),” thereport says.“The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of September 27th, 2021 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated.”
AdDuplex says approximately 60,000 PCs were surveyed, though it’s unclear if that number is a direct extension of the data from the 5,000Microsoft Store(formally called “Windows Store”) apps.
With all that said, the results show that 1.3% of surveyed machines are already on Windows 11 even though the operating system isn’t releasing until early October alongside amassive lineup of Surface hardwareas well as thenew Microsoft Store.
That percentage, plus the 60,000 PC ballpark figure, equals roughly 780 PCs (per every 60,000 out there) running on Windows 11, if the survey figures are accurate. Though there’s no way of knowing whether those are the figures Microsoft was hoping for ahead of October 5, there’s no denying that such numbers still mean there’s a large quantity of people out there beta testing Windows 11, likely including asizeable subsection of the Windows Central readersperusing this article right now.
