Minecraft is the most popular game of all time, and today it has reached a new milestone. As of today, PC version of the game has officially been purchased more than 30 million times since the game was initially launched back in 2009 (via GamesIndustry.biz).

Last year, the game reached arecord high of over 91 million active users, having sold more than 154 million copies since its release. One of the highlights of the game are the continuous updates it continues to receive, with the next major release of the Bedrock edition being the one tocomplete the Village and Pillage set—adding Bamboo Forests, Campfires, Wandering Traders and many other new blocks, mobs, items and features.

In other recent news, the Bedrock edition of Minecraft for the Xbox One has also joined Game Pass today, so members of the $9.99-per-month service will be able to play the game as part of their subscriptions. Normally, the game runs for $19.99 on the platform, so being able to play it for free on a subscription that includes more than 100 other titles is definitely a good deal.

The great thing too is that the version on the Xbox One also features cross-platform multiplayer of the game between Android, iOS, Windows 10, and Nintendo Switch devices. So if you’ve been interested, now might be a good time to give it a try now that it’s free to play for Game Pass users.
