The Phantasy Star Online franchise has dominated as a Japanese MMO RPG for over two decades now, and SEGA is preparing to begin the next stage of Phantasy Star Online 2 with the absolutely massive New Genesis update. Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis officially has a release date, and launches onXbox Series X,Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Windows PCs on June 9, 2021. There’s also a new English-narrated intro trailer to break down some of the features of Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis for new and returning players.
In case you missed it, SEGA shocked the world by announcing thatPhantasy Star Online 2 was finally coming to the west, but as an Xbox console exclusive. Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is still an Xbox console exclusive here in the west, and will also launch on PC through the Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store on June 9. Japan will get its own PlayStation and PC launch of Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently available as a free-to-play game on Xbox consoles. If you’re anXbox Game Pass Ultimatesubscribers, you also may have enjoyed exclusive PSO2 perks and content for being subscribed. The New Genesis update will add a ton of new content, overhauled visuals, and so much more when it launches on June 9.
