Before you can get the M1851 Wolfsbane

To get your hands on the devastating M1851 Wolfsbane, you’ll first need to make your way through roughly half of the game and overcome the encounter with Moreau. In the section leading up to this boss fightyou’ll find a crank attached to a windmill. Don’t worry about missing this particular item since it’s necessary to progress the story. Once you’ve collected this item and defeated Moreau, make your way out of the reservoir and back to the first windmill with the typewriter.

From the windmill with the typewriter, you’ll see a gate directly across from the exit that requires a crank to open. Use the crank you obtained from the reservoir area to access this optional path. If you look on your map, you’ll see a shiny treasure chest labeledMoreau’s Hidden Weapon. Continue along this path and make your way towards the treasure icon on your map. You’ll need to fight your way through a small collection of ghouls and flying bloodsuckers and find a cabin perch upon a small hill.

The front door of this structure will be locked from the other side, so take a detour around the back of the house and crawl through a hole in the rear wall for entry. Prominently displayed on a table in this building will be abriefcase with the M1851 Wolfsbane inside. Grab your shiny new firearm, unlock the front door, and prepare for an encounter with a rather nasty Lycan. Not to fear, though! Your magnum should take this beast out in two quick shots.
