Rockstar gameshas officially released its very own game launcher, allowing the game development company to manage its own digital rights management system and encourage gamers to purchase games from them as opposed to game distributors such as Steam. What’s more, the company is giving away a free copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as an incentive to get people to jump on its platform.

A move like this not surprising. It’s something that other development companies—Bethesda, EA, and Ubisoft just to name a few—have been doing for some time now. Not only does this give developers a way of managing their own digital rights management system for their games, but also allows them to sell their games without giving a cut to their distributors.

According toTweakTown, it’s possible that Rockstar is also launching the new game launcher as the storefront of its Red Dead Redemption 2 game available on PS4 and Xbox One. If that’s the case, it could suggest that the game is coming to Windows PCs, event if it won’t be distributed on other networks including Steam or the Microsoft Store on Windows 10.
