After the disappointing release of Saints Row IV, the chaotic and humorous Saints Row franchise has languished without a single new game.Saints Row: The Third Remasteredwas an excellent revival of (arguably) the last great Saints Row game, but fans of this insane open-world series have been eagerly waiting for something new. Today, the Saints Row team has not-so-subtly teased the arrival of a brand-new Saints Row game atGamescom 2021during the Opening Night Live stream.

We don’t have all the information on what this new Saints Row game will look like (after all, it hasn’t been revealed yet), but with theofficial Saints Row websitedisplaying a “Rebooting…” message and the team’s cryptic responses on their social media, it’s almost certain that this is a completely new Saints Row game (and not a remaster of an older title). It also seems likely that this Saints Row game isn’t going to be “Saints Row V” and pick up where Saints Row IV left off, and instead will reboot the series and take it into a new direction.
We won’t have long to wait to find out, fortunately, as Gamescom Opening Night Live airs on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021.
