What you need to know
Microsoft’s Surface Go 3 briefly appeared on the Thai retailerShopee’s website. The folks atWinFuturewere able to check out the specs of the device before the listing was taken down. The information from the retail listing lines up with what we’ve previously reported as well as suspectedGeekbench results.
The main takeaway from the listing is that theSurface Go 3should ship with either Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y or Intel Core i3-10100Y processors. The Pentium Gold 6500Y is a significant step up from the Pentium Gold 4425Y in the Surface Go 2. Both chips that will ship with the Surface Go 3 are Amber Lake Y processors, which aren’t as powerful as 11th Gen Tiger Lake chips.
Assuming the listing is accurate, the external design of the Surface Go 3 appears to be largely unchanged compared to the Surface Go 2. The Surface Go 3 still lacks PCIe, which some had hoped for.
According to the retail listing and previous reports and leaks, the Surface Go 3 should have the following specs:
We suspect that the Surface Go 3 will start at $399. Microsoft is expected to announce the Surface Go 3 at itsSurface hardware eventon September 22, 2021.
