What you need to know
Acer has brought the performance of AMD Ryzen PRO (yes, all-caps) to its TravelMate P2 series laptops, offering up two choices for consumers interested in Team Red-powered machines. The TravelMate P2 with AMD’s Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U mobile processor (up to 4.2GHz) sells for $749, while the one with the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U mobile processor (up to 4.4GHz) goes for $849. Both laptops are available now.
The two laptops are pretty similar outside of their difference in CPU. They both run on Windows 10 Pro, feature AMD Radeon graphics, 15.6" FHD (Full HD) 16:9 displays, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage.
The machines are designed with on-the-go users in mind and feature “all-day battery life,” spill-resistant keyboards, and MIL-STD-810G U.S. military-grade impact resistance. They also pack the standard assortment of ports you’ve come to expect from modern machines, including HDMI, VGA, USB Type-C, and Thunderbolt 4, ensuring you’ll be able to plug in whatever you need to. Check out Acer’s page on theTravelMate P2 seriesfor the full rundown of what these machines can do.
When it comes to thebest Windows laptops, many are AMD powered, so if you’re not a fan of NVIDIA, these sorts of machines are an alternative worth checking out.
