TheCaves and Cliffs UpdateforMinecraftmay not be that far away, according to the latestMinecraft: Bedrock Edition beta. A new Minecraft YouTube series is breaking down some of the features that players can expect frompart one of the Caves and Cliffs Update releasing this summer. Thefirst episode talked about the 91 new blocks coming to Minecraft. Now, we get to learn more about mobs.

Three new mobs are arriving with the first half of the Caves and Cliffs Update: the axolotl, glow squid, and mountain goat. Each one brings something new to the table, and should be exciting additions for Minecraft players.

In the absence of lush caves (which arrive in part two of the Caves and Cliffs Update), axolotl will spawn in underground lakes. Axolotl can be caught, bred, and will even defend themselves from drowned and guardians. Glow squid are also found in underground lakes, and shine (as their name implies). Their ink can even be used to make new items like the glow item frame. Finally, mountain goats are found, well, on top of mountains. They can ram their enemies, avoid powder snow traps, and more. If you’re lucky, you may also find the extremely rare screaming goat.

The first half of the Caves and Cliffs Update still doesn’t have a confirmed release date, but it’s hopefully not too far out now. If you’re excited for the update and love Minecraft, take a look at our list of best Minecraft merch, toys, and gifts.
