You may not know, but the April 2019monthly roll upforWindows 7no longer packed the PciClearStaleCache.exe component. This tool automatically fixed system consistencies and compatibility issues thus ensuring a smooth update process.

Unfortunately, Microsoft confirmed this tool would no longer be shipped with futureWindows 7 updates.

The news was confirmed when the tech giant shippedKB4493472update without PciClearStaleCache.exe.

Microsoft recommends System Administrators to make sure themonthly roll upsreleased between April 2018 and March 2019 are installed on their systems.

Theseupdatesare mandatory before the installation of the April 2019 updates and futureupdatesbecause they came with the PciClearStaleCache.exe tool.

Microsoft says that this tool is necessary to resolve potential consistencies that might exist in the internal PCI cache. That is why you are required to install an update that comes with PciClearStaleCache.exe in any of these situations.

Microsoft pulls Windows 7 Updates
