If you’re having issues with Microsoft Teams right now, you’re not alone. The company has acknowledged that Teams users may experience delays in receiving chat messages or be unable to join live events, and it’s currently investigating.
We’ve determined that Teams live events may also be impacted by this issue, and we’ve confirmed that users located in South America may also experience impact. Additional information can be found in the admin center under TM240228.

According to the company, the issue is currently impacting users in North and South America. “We’ve identified a potential networking issue that may be causing the problem. We’re working to confirm our findings while simultaneously exploring the optimal solution to remediate impact,” the company said a couple of minutes ago on theMicrosoft 365 Twitter account.
It’s certainly not the first time that Teams is having issues, and you may want to try using the Teams web app instead of the desktop app to see if this changes anything. We’ll keep you informed when the company shares some new information about the outage, so stay tuned to OnMSFT for more updates on this Teams outage.
Update 3PM PT: Microsoft says that things should now go back to normal. “A majority of the impact has been mitigated. We’re monitoring the service to ensure full restoration and will take any necessary action if impact persists,” the companysaid on Twitter.
