Microsoft has started rolling out a new icon for its Camera app on Windows 10, which is now live in the latest version of the app (2020.127.20.0). The revamped icon is inspired by Microsoft’s Fluent Design guidelines, and it follows other redesigned icons such as Alarms & Clock, Weather, Photos, Mail and Calendar as well asPaint 3D.
Just like all other icons which received a fresh coat of paint recently, the new Camera app icon uses a blue background by default. This means that it will ignore your Windows 10 accent color and probably mess with your beautifully-organized Start Menu, but we can’t always have nice things, right?
While the revamp of app icons in Windows 10 has been happening for the past couple of months, Microsoft initially announced its plans toupdate their various app icons back in December 2018. However, the rollout is taking quite some time, and the software giant has since expanded on this idea bybringing Fluent Design to mobile devices, starting with the Office apps last year in December.
