Key notes

We already knew that Windows 10X will soon be canceled but only today did we get the confirmation from Microsoft that this is actually happening.

The information was presented by Microsoft in the same blog that is announcing the next important release, and that is the Windows 10 21H1 update.

As they already mentioned several times, they put in the center of their decision their customers and their needs, trying to constantly live up to them.

Windows 10X canceled

According to Microsoft Windows 10X technology will be better off as an integrative part than as a stand alone product:

Instead of bringing a product called Windows 10X to market in 2021 like we originally intended, we are leveraging learnings from our journey thus far and accelerating the integration of key foundational 10X technology into other parts of Windows and products at the company.

Additionally, the giant informed that they will continue to invest in areas where the Windows 10X technology will help meet customers’ needs.

This is definitely a shift that once again confirms how Microsoft puts great emphasis on customers and makes them their first focus point.

It’s been a year-long of testing and discussing, so for sure the decision has not been taken lightly, as Microsoft itself states:

Following a year-long exploration and engaging in conversations with customers, we realized that the technology of Windows 10X could be useful in more ways and serve more customers than we originally imagined. We concluded that the 10X technology shouldn’t just be confined to a subset of customers.

As always, your thoughts on the matter are important to us, so don’t hesitate to leave us a comment in the dedicated section below.
