If Microsoft and Sony finally revealed the full specs of theXbox Series XandPlayStation 5last month, both companies have yet to show gameplay footage of next-gen games. Back in December, Microsoft revealed acinematic trailer of Ninja Theory’s Hellblade 2featuring entirely in-engine footage rendered on an Xbox Series X, and that’s pretty much all we’ve seen of next-gen Xbox games so far.

Fortunately, it seems that we won’t have to wait much longer to see Microsoft show more next-gen games running on Xbox Series X. In a reply to a tweet asking him when we should expect reveals of new games, Xbox head Phil Spencer had an enthusiastic reply (viaIGN). “I’ve never been more excited about Xbox plans. We’ve heard you, you want transparency/authenticity. We plan to keep showing that way, next step is not too much of a wait (games),” the exec wrote.

Reviewed plans yesterday for continued sharing through launch. Team is doing great work and adapting. I’ve never been more excited about Xbox plans. We’ve heard you, you want transparency/authenticity. We plan to keep showing that way, next step is not too much of a wait (games)

Halo: Infinite, which will be a launch title for Xbox Series X is almost guaranteed to be one of the games that Microsoft could showcase really soon. Among other candidates, we think a new Forza Motorsport game from Turn 10 Studios could make sense. Other unannounced games, such as the rumored new Fable game developed by Playground Games (Forza Horizon 4) could be a nice surprise as well.

According to recent rumors, Microsoft could be planning anXbox digital event in Maywhere the company could reveal next-gen games, a new Xbox-branded wireless headset, as well as the long-rumored cheaper next-gen console codenamed “Lockhart.” We’ll see what happens, but with E3 2020 being canceled this year, Microsoft is free to talk about next-gen Xbox games earlier than expected.
