If you’ve ever been in a one-on-one call with someone in Teams and were hoping to rope another set of colleagues into the chat via a call merge, you’re in luck. Microsoft is bringing call merging to Teams on desktop. As can be seen on the feature’sMicrosoft 365 roadmap listing(viaOnMSFT), it’s rolling out right now with an April 2021 release date attached, meaning by the end of this month you should be all set to merge.

Here’s the 365 roadmap’s description of the feature:

Call Merge gives end users the capability to merge their active unheld 1-1 call into another 1-1 call or another group call. This applies to Teams VOIP calls and PSTN calls.

It’s unclear when this feature will lose its status as a desktop exclusive, but when it does, we’ll be sure to let you know.
