Windows users, may I have your attention please? Microsoft is giving you a final chance to upgrade tothe newerInternet Explorer 11.Internet Explorer10 is not going to receive any new security upgrades after 2020, as it is moving towards its official end of support.

Initially, Microsoft plans to roll outInternet Explorer11 Windows Embedded 8 systems and Windows Server 2012 from spring this year. This expected move by the company is expected to bring Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 in-line with each other.

Theusers of Windows Embedded 8 systems and Windows Server 2012 will use pilot rings or test environments to runInternet Explorer11. It will be done to ensure the smooth running of everything on the safestweb browserversion.

According to Microsoft,Internet Explorer11 is going to be the latest version ofInternet Explorer. Moreover, any version beforeInternet Explorer11 is no longer going to receive any new updates. It’s a part of Microsoft’s latest tactic topush users towards Edgeor IE11.

Microsoft stated that most of its consumer PCs are already running either IE11 or Microsoft Edge apart fromGoogle Chrome. All versions of Windows Embedded 8 Standard and Windows Server 2012 are going to receive IE11 through Microsoft Update Catalog.

Furthermore,Windows Updateand Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) will be used to publish the upgrade.It will be a lot easier for the users to migrate toWindows 10, Windows Server 2016 or 2019, or Windows 10 IoT as a result of an upgrade to IE11.

It is highly recommended that you should not compromise thesecurity of your sensitive datathat is being shared through yourweb browserfrom time to time. If you are interested in receiving free security updates, you should upgrade to IE11 untilJanuary 2020.
